MIT took a bold step in 2002 when it began making MIT course material available on the Internet through its OpenCourseWare (OCW) Initiative. OCW is a free and open educational resource for faculty, students, and self-learners around the world. It represents a new concept in the distribution of academic courseware and is consistent with MIT Sloan's goal of advancing innovation and leadership at MIT Sloan and worldwide.
